Educator Workshop

Talking to Your Students about Abstract Art

How do educators make even the most enigmatic works of art accessible to a wide range of students? Randy Williams, Professor of Studio Art and Art Education, Manhattanville College, and an instructor at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, will lead the discussion and a hands-on art project. Participants also view the exhibition From the Margins: Lee Krasner and Norman Lewis, 1945 – 1952 with Jewish Museum educators.

Professional development workshops are made possible with endowment support from the Kekst Family Fund.

$15 (includes a light dinner). Special education teachers are invited to attend these workshops free of charge.

General Admission tickets are sold only at the Museum and valid for the day of visitation.

Order by phone at 212.423.3337 on Monday through Thursday, 10 am – 5 pm; and Friday, 10 am – 3 pm. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Day-of-event phone sales close three (3) hours prior to the show. If the show is sold out, there will be a message on the box office line. There is a $1 per ticket surcharge for credit card orders.


Orders are available through our online ticket vendor, Museumtix. Online ticket sales close four (4) hours prior to the event. There is a $2 surcharge for tickets ordered on Museumtix.

In Person

Tickets can be purchased in person at the Museum's admission desk during regular Museum hours, excluding Saturdays.

Ticket Policies

  • Ticket purchase for events at the Museum includes admission to the galleries on the day of the program.
  • Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Please note that seating is limited; we recommend purchasing tickets in advance.
  • Ticket holders are encouraged to arrive promptly, as seating is not guaranteed once a program has begun.
  • Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.
