Celebrate the striking and colorful world of fashion in the exhibition Isaac Mizrahi: An Unruly History. Design an imaginative hat, print on fabric, create a wearable work of art with found objects, hear the hip and award-winning sounds of Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band, explore the galleries and so much more.  

Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band

12:30 pm and 2:15 pm
Hear the hip and award-winning tunes of Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band as they connect their own inventive and colorful style to the vibrant work of designer Isaac Mizrahi. Dance with your family to hit songs about color and pattern with indie music sounds that are rooted in the band’s whimsical child-friendly imagination.  

Drop-In Art Workshops 

Noon - 4 pm
Families may participate in three activities:

Hat Sculptures
Design an imaginative and sculptural hat using metallic board, textured papers, colored tape, wire, and more.

Wearable Art
Use found objects and other unexpected materials to create a wearable work of art inspired by the playful materials and textures Isaac Mizrahi incorporates into his designs.

Fashion Poses
Capture your wearable creations on camera and strike a fabulous pose as a family at our professional photo booth.

Pattern Prints

1:00pm - 3:00 pm
Use printmaking techniques to create patterned fabric made with funky shaped stamps, colors, and textures.

Isaac Mizrahi Spotlight Tours 

1:15 and 3:00 pm
Join an educator on a brief tour and sketching experience spotlighting looks from the exhibition Isaac Mizrahi: An Unruly History. Discover the patterns, colors, and textures found in Mizrahi’s collections and costumes.

All day 

Embark on a gallery hunt in the exhibition Isaac Mizrahi: An Unruly History using printed family guides.
