Panel: Portraits on Film

New York Jewish Film Festival

Talk

This panel discussion will examine the growing interest in the role and format of biopics and filmic portraits and the expanded understanding of this genre in today’s filmmaking. The focus of the conversation will be the question of how these films look at particular histories, eras and epochs of the past through the lens of a specific individual biographical exploration. Panelists will include filmmakers from this year’s festival lineup and other guests and will be moderated by Jens Hoffmann, Curator for Special Programs, NYJFF.

Free and open to the public.
