Freedom Art Jam Schedule

Noon and 1:15 pm: Vered and The Babes — Two Performances

Hear soulful tunes for the Passover holiday and more with the delightful sounds of Vered and the Babes. Their mix of folksy pop rock will keep the whole family grooving to their infectious beats. Hear their playful spin on Ma Nishtana (the Four Questions), songs about freedom along with their award winning hits.

Vered Ronen’s songs draw on her experience as a music therapist, guiding parents through the joys and challenges that come with parenting. Her hit album Good Morning My Love, praised by the Parents’ Choice Foundation as having “warmth enough to melt the polar ice cap.” Vered and the Babes play a variety of instruments, ranging from French horn, bass, drums and trumpet to pots and pans, and will have kids and parents alike jumping and singing along.

Noon – 4pm: Drop-in Art Workshops

Funky Instruments for Freedom
Let freedom ring! Create a one-of-a-kind instrument inspired by a collection object using found objects, bells, wire and other unexpected materials. Invent your own type of instrument from a station of many objects and bins of treasures to sculpt from. Bring out your creation to add more fun while you sing together as a family.

Painted Passover Storybooks
Design your own handmade book inspired by the paintings of Chagall and works on view. Use vibrant colors with watercolor and crayon resist techniques that incorporates drawing and painting. Think about your favorite moment in the Passover story or invent your own family story for the holiday.

Giant Seder Plate Sculpture
