8 – 9:30 am
Think Coffee, Union Square, 123 4th Avenue, NYC

A breakfast salon for the 21st century that takes place in the early hours of the day at Think Coffee Union Square, hosted by the Jewish Museum. Artist Brian Belott discusses his recent projects with Jens Hoffmann, Director of Special Exhibitions and Public Programs.

Brian Belott (b. 1973, East Orange, NJ) lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. As the self-appointed “Master of Discard,” Belott scours the cultural thrift shop for visual, audio and performative materials. Belott exhibits with Gavin Brown’s enterprise, New York; Moran Bondaroff, Los Angeles; and LOYAL, Stockholm, Sweden. In May 2017, Gavin Brown’s enterprise hosted Dr. Kid President Jr., an exhibition by Belott that took inspiration from the legacy of psychologist and educator Rhoda Kellogg who pioneered the study of children’s art. In November 2017, Belott will present People Pie Pool, a new performance piece commissioned by Performa at Abrons Art Center in New York.

Coffee and conversation are free.
