Curatorial Intern (Arts Administration)

The Position:

We are looking for inspired individuals who would like to join the Curatorial Team of The Jewish Museum and develop their knowledge of museum administration and exhibition realization in a professional, supportive environment. The Curatorial Intern for Arts Administration will be assigned to assist the Curatorial Department Coordinator with general administration in connection with forthcoming exhibitions, film festivals, presentations, and related special projects.

Schedule: 1-2 days per week

Responsibilities:

The intern would be requested to respond to unsolicited exhibition submissions, process mail for the Department, maintain and update departmental mailing lists, maintain the 6th Floor elevator lobby informational display, process department invoices & receipts while maintaining a budget log, update the exhibition schedule, prepare materials for weekly meetings, schedule meetings, and other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • B.A. and/or M.A. in an arts related field is a must. College juniors and seniors, as well as M.A. candidates in Arts Administration and Museum Studies are invited to apply.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as excellent organizational, research, and communication skills are a must.
