Public Programs Intern

The Public Programs Intern will assist with planning and implementation of weekly public programs for adult audiences.  Programs relate to current temporary exhibitions at the Museum and follow a variety of formats including lectures, gallery talks, concerts and film screenings. S/he will work directly with the Manager of Public Programs and Assistant Manager of Adult Programs staffing these events and help with ongoing research both for future events, as well as in the growing areas of outreach to University audiences and Adult Studio Workshops.

Responsibilities:

Assisting with clerical tasks such as filing and mailing contracts and letters of agreement.
Assist with set up and clean-up for all public programs.
Liaise with the public during programs in the Museum’s gallery or auditorium space –including handling visitor check in, evaluations, or answering general questions.
Generating research for upcoming programs and events.
Continue growing the Museum’s database for University Outreach.

Requirements:

Current Bachelors or Masters student; preferred field of study Fine Art or Art History.
Some interest in Public Programming, Education, Contemporary Art, Visitor Services.
Strong research and organizational skills required.
Should be both willing to work as part of a team and work independently on projects.
