FREEDOM ART JAM EVENTS

TWO SHOWS
12:30pm and 2:30pm
PERFORMANCE: THE MACAROONS
The Macaroons play catchy pop-rock with tunes for the Passover holiday and more that will keep the whole family grooving to their delicious beats. The big harmonies, irresistible melodies and guitar-based sound that's more Beatles than Wiggles recall everything from the Kinks and Queen to the Shins.

A spinoff from the acclaimed indie rock band, The LeeVees, The Macaroons - Shawn Fogel (bass), Dan Saks (guitar), Dave Schneider (guitar), and Tim Walsh (drums) - have delighted children and families in synagogues, JCCs, and concert venues across the country.  Their first album, Let’s Go Coconuts, was released in 2010.

12 Noon to 4pm
DROP-IN ART WORKSHOP
Participants may participate in three activities.

Sculptural Holiday Vessels
Design whimsical vessels to use during the Passover seder by sculpting with modeling clay, colored wire, beads and more.

Giant Matzah Masterpiece
Collaborate on a giant collage to create an artistic wall of matzah, and take selfies to share on social media with a message about what freedom means.

Painted Passover Designs
Use Passover motifs and imagery to paint a colorful fabric piece, either a matzah cover or as a work of art on its own.

1:30pm and 3:15pm
HOLIDAY SPOTLIGHT TOURS
A Museum educator will conduct a brief tour highlighting objects on view related to Passover, including a sketching activity.

All day
SELF-GUIDED FAMILY EXHIBITION TOURS
Specialized printed family gallery hunts highlighting Passover objects in the collection will be available.
