Students discuss ideas, experiment with materials, and create their own works of art in this week-long summer program.
This year, we offer #BLAHBLAHBLAH. We use language in a myriad of ways – from writing lengthy school essays to 140-character tweets. What do our words represent? Can we change their meaning by putting them in a different context? Can the words we use every day be works of art?
Delve into these questions and experiment with printmaking, painting, and installation art inspired by the exhibition Mel Bochner: Strong Language. Featuring words used in surprising ways, Bochner’s work raises questions about the role and power of language. Over the course of one week, explore our relationship to words and how we use them to make meaning in works of art.
