Sketching the City

During this virtual drawing class, get inspired by representations of city scenes on view in the Jewish Museum’s past exhibition Edith Halpert and the Rise of American Art. Participants will explore perspective, abstraction, and narrative in paintings by Charles Sheeler, Stuart Davis, Jacob Lawrence, and others.

This session will be led virtually through Zoom. Participants should have access to a computer with a camera and WiFi, and will receive a Zoom link prior to the program date.

  • Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that seating is limited; we recommend purchasing tickets in advance.
  • Ticket holders are encouraged to arrive promptly, as seating is not guaranteed once a program has begun.
  • Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.
  • If your ticket was emailed to you, present the ticket on your mobile device or the print-out of your ticket.
  • Tickets purchased for events and programs at the Museum include admission to the galleries on the day of the program during regular Museum hours.
