Join us for our Passover extravaganza featuring art, music, and dancing! Set yourself free to the joyful sounds of Grammy winner Joanie Leeds, craft a holiday work of art, create a freedom shaker, add to a giant mixed-media Seder themed installation, explore the galleries, and more!

 
ASL interpretation with Deaf Interpreters is available for the 11:30 am concert and drop-in activities until 1 pm.

Freedom Art Jam Schedule:

11:30 am and 1:30 pm:  Joanie Leeds (Two 35-minute Performances)

Dance and sing to the holiday tunes of Grammy-winner Joanie Leeds as she explores her twists to Passover favorites and original songs from "Afikomen Mambo" to "This Land is Your Land" that celebrate freedom, family, and more!

11 am – 3:30 pm: Drop-in Art Workshops

Collage Matzah Plates

Create your own decorative matzah plate using collage with holiday-related images and drawing materials to enjoy at your Seder table.

Freedom Shakers

Design a colorful musical instrument to use during Passover to sing and dance together with tubes, wire, fabric, and patterned papers.

Materials Exploration Station & Play

Get playful with some sensory fun in a Passover-themed exploration of playdough matzah patterns, building structures, and other surprises with Play Curator Linda White.

Sculptural Seder Table Mural

Use your imagination and collaborate on a wild and original Seder table mural installation with found objects inspired by works of art in the exhibition, After “The Wild”: Contemporary Art from The Barnett and Annalee Newman Foundation Collection.

11:30 am - 2:30 pm: PJ Library Book Nook

PJ Library New York offers families a quiet space to relax in between activities and enjoy reading holiday stories together.

1 - 3 pm: At the Art Studio

Inspired by the art of ChagallTissot, and other artists in the Jewish Museum Collection, create a watercolor resist painting of your favorite scene from the Passover story.

This event is included with Museum Admission; admission is free for children 18 and under. Click here for admission tickets and select a timeslot on April 2 between 11 am and 3:15 pm to attend. Reservations are recommended but not required, walk-up spots are also available.
