After School Art Explorers
Drop-In Program
Tuesdays: Jan 13, Jan 27, Feb 10, Feb 24
Preschoolers and elementary school-aged children are invited to explore and create during these drop-in Tuesday afternoon sessions. Inspired by artworks on view, families will encounter different art-making activities, such as printmaking, mixed-media collages, or sculptural projects.
This program is led by a Museum Educator and assisted by Teen Interns.
January 13: Abstract Collagraph Prints
Create abstract designs using the collagraph printmaking techniques inspired by the shapes and lines in the painting Untitled by Lee Krasner.
January 27: Magical Landscapes
Celebrate nature and the Jewish holiday of Tu B’Shevat by making nature inspired wax-resist watercolor paintings.
February 10: Expressive Portrait Paintings
Use tempera paint and bright strokes of color to paint a portrait inspired by the vibrant artwork of Gertrud Kauder.
February 24: Sculptural Purim Masks
Make a bold and festive mask to celebrate Purim with fabric, found objects, buttons, and trims!
This is a free drop-in program and no registration is required.
