Love, Sex, and Jews: Writing Jewish Romance with Dahlia Adler and Lily Meyer
Unpacking the Book: Jewish Writers in Conversation
Join authors Dahlia Adler (Soon By You) and Lily Meyer (The End of Romance) for a conversation about navigating the complicated world of Jewish sex, romance, and identity in contemporary life. This event is moderated by Stephanie Butnick and co-sponsored by The Jewish Museum, Jewish Book Council, and The Ripped Bodice bookstore.
This talk is held in conjunction with the current exhibition, Joan Semmel: In the Flesh (on view through May 31, 2026). Books available for purchase and signing after the event.
Dahlia Adler is an award-winning author of romance novels for both teens and adults, a prolific YA anthologist, and the founder of the website LGBTQReads. Her bookish byline has appeared on Buzzfeed, B&N Reads, Reactor, and more. She enjoys ’90s rock, rewatching Grey’s Anatomy, finding great cover songs, crying at commercials, and extremely short walks on the beach. She lives in the New York City suburbs with her family.
Lily Meyer is a translator, a critic, and the author of the novels The End of Romance and Short War. She is a staff writer at The Atlantic.
Stephanie Butnick is the founder of GOLDA, a Jewish lifestyle newsletter built around one idea: making Jewish life bright, beautiful, and full of meaning. She’s a trusted voice on Jewish culture and identity, and also a recognizable one: she hosted the hit Tablet podcast “Unorthodox” for nearly a decade, and, along with her co-hosts, and edited The Newish Jewish Encyclopedia: From Abraham to Zabar’s and Everything in Between.
Tickets: Free with RSVP; Museum doors open at 5:30pm; Auditorium doors open at 6:30pm.
