Reflections on Circa 1776: Jews in Colonial America
Attend an evening of conversation inspired by the Jewish Museum’s current exhibition Circa 1776, exploring the lives of Jews in Colonial America, co-presented with Congregation Shearith Israel, founded in 1654 as the first Jewish congregation established in North America. Hear from Laura Leibman, Leonard J. Milberg ’53 Professor in American Jewish Studies, Princeton University, and Zachary Edinger, Sexton and Ritual Director, who will touch upon the works loaned to the exhibition by Congregation Shearith Israel, and the relationship between personal and ritual objects.
Tickets: $24 General, $14 Seniors, $10 Students; Free for Jewish Museum and Congregation Shearith Israel Members. Tickets include Museum Admission. Attendees are encouraged to come early and enjoy a preview viewing of the exhibition.
