Experimental Collagraph Printmaking

Following a tour of the exhibition Modernity and Opulence: Women of the Wiener Werkstätte, while the Museum is closed to the public, participate in a collagraph printmaking workshop. In this in-person workshop taught by artist and educator Hollie Ecker, participants will explore how the artists in the Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna Workshops) used geometric and organic patterns, color, and design in their artworks. Participants will be introduced to the collagraph printing process including building a collagraph plate with different textures and materials, applying ink, and transferring the image to paper using a barin and printing press.
