Resistance & Resilience: The Danish Rescue
A workshop for educators co-sponsored by the Museum of Jewish Heritage and the Jewish Museum.
Join us for a workshop co-sponsored by the Museum of Jewish Heritage and the Jewish Museum. In the morning, hear a lecture from author and historian Judith Goldstein, the founder of the human rights advocacy group Humanity in Action, about the remarkable history of Jews in Denmark, as well as how occupied Denmark was different from other occupied countries. After the lecture, staff members will demonstrate how to use the Museum of Jewish Heritage’s online exhibition Danish Rescue: Compassion In Action for teaching about resistance, resilience, and standing up for what is right. After lunch, visit the Jewish Museum’s newly renovated galleries and experience the Museum’s program, Number the Stars, developed for classes reading Lois Lowry’s award-winning book.
A light breakfast and pizza lunch will be served.
Fee: $36
