About the performers:
A collaboration between Brooklyn musicians Jason Rabinowitz and Jacob Stein, The Pop Ups have been setting the standard for children’s music since 2010. They have received multiple Grammy nominations for Best Children’s Album with Giants of Science and Appetite for Construction, a National Parenting Publications Award, Parents’ Choice Award, and a recent Tiny Desk concert on National Public Radio.  Rabinowitz and Stein have toured with Yo Gabba Gabba Live and perform their rock and roll puppet musical to sold out audiences across the U.S. In 2015 they launched The Pop Ups video series, their album Great Pretenders Club, and the companion 30 minute video piece, The Pop Ups Great Pretenders Club Special on Amazon. They have developed multiple podcasts with Noggin and Tinkercast including Wow in the World with Guy Raz and Mindy Thomas. The Pop Ups are also a kid-forward creative agency and production company creating unforgettable experiences for kids and their grown-ups.
Princess Backpack and Benjamin is a creation of Benjamin Weiner, who makes sweet, silly, danceable kids music, with two full-length albums including Carry On! plus a collaborative album with Suzi Shelton, We’re Friends Now produced by The Pop Ups own Jason Rabinowitz. Benjamin is a writer for kids TV shows on Nickelodeon, PBS, and Netflix, and hosts Tune Up, a new video podcast with over 15M views on YouTube. Princess Backpack is a magical talking bag who takes frequent naps and is Benjamin’s beloved sidekick.
