Drawing from Portraiture: Exploring Figuration in the Collection
During this in-person workshop taught by artist and educator Hollie Ecker, learn observational drawing techniques through the exploration of figurative works in the newly reopened Jewish Museum collection galleries. Participants will be guided through a variety of drawing exercises, working from paintings and photographs on view while the museum is closed to the public. Learn the basics of gesture drawing, proportion, and shading, all leading to the completion of a finished portrait.
All skill levels welcome; all materials provided.
This workshop may be taken on its own or paired with the Drawing in Three Dimensions class held the following week.
