Dialogue and Discourse

Darsie Alexander, Susan and Elihu Rose Chief Curator, moderates a conversation with artists Hadar Gad, Dor Guez, and Lisa Oppenheim, whose works are included in Afterlives: Recovering the Lost Stories of Looted Art. The exhibition explores how artworks and other precious objects that survived the traumatic events of WWII moved through time, bearing witness to profound historical ruptures while also acting as enduring carriers of individual expression, knowledge, and creativity. The artists discuss how these themes fit into their own respective artistic practices and reflect on history through the lens of our present moment.
