Friday Evening recreates a Sabbath room Isidor Kaufmann designed for the old Jewish Museum in Vienna in 1899. The artist drew inspiration from homes he visited in small towns in Hungary, Galicia, and Russian Poland. He thought these home represented a traditional pious lifestyle that was lost in the metropolitan Vienna. Expand your understanding of his painting in this 30-minute gallery discussion led by Director of Education, Nelly Silagy Benedek.
