Talk

Salo W. Baron Program

In conjunction with the exhibition Modigliani Unmasked Senior Curator Mason Klein provides insight into Modigliani’s work from the period shortly after the artist arrived in Paris in 1906, when the city was still roiling with anti-Semitism after the tumult of the Dreyfus Affair and an influx of foreign emigres. Klein illuminates how Modigliani’s work cannot be fully understood without acknowledging the ways that he, as an Italian Sephardic Jew, responded to the social realities at the time.

The Salo W. Baron Program has been endowed by the Trustees of the Salo W. and Jeannette M. Baron Foundation

This program is at capacity. Doors open at 6 pm, early arrival is suggested, and seating is general admission.
