Tzippy’s Tales

Performances

Thursday, November 30, 2017
6:30 – 8 pm
Scheuer Auditorium

Join Tziporah Salamon, author of The Art of Dressing: Ageless, Timeless, Original Style, for a performative tale of one woman's sartorial journey over the decades and learn about her lifetime collecting antique clothes and her remarkable life in fashion. From her parents’ wartime escape to her childhood in Israel and Brooklyn, ‘Tzippy’ shares details about her fabulous life in NYC, including befriending style icon and photographer Bill Cunningham all from the seats of her turquoise Bianchi and pink Shinola bicycles.

Held in conjunction with the exhibition Veiled Meanings: Fashioning Jewish Dress. Featuring a sumptuous array of over 100 articles of clothing from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries, the exhibition offers an exceptional opportunity for American audiences to view many facets of Jewish identity and culture through rarely seen garments. Copies of The Art of Dressing will also be available for purchase and signing after the event.
