Ages 3 & Up

Join us for our Passover extravaganza featuring art, music, and dancing! Set yourself free to the soulful sounds of ShirLaLa, craft a holiday artifact, create a freedom painting, add to a Passover-themed installation, explore the galleries, and more!

Freedom Art Jam Schedule

12:30 and 2:30 pm:  ShirLaLa – Two Performances

Hear kid rocker ShirLaLa or Shira Kline perform as she takes you on a musical journey with delightful twists to holiday favorites. Jump like a frog, ask the four questions, dance with tambourines, and set yourself free for Passover!

Noon – 4pm: Drop-in Art Workshops

Sculptural Vessels
Create your own ceremonial object for the Seder table or a decorative piece for your home inspired by this Miriam Cup in the Jewish Museum collection. Sculpt a vessel and decorate it with colorful wire and beads.

Freedom Paintings

Explore the theme of freedom using watercolor and crayon resist techniques. Express what freedom means to you by painting with bold colors and shapes or with images of people, places, and things in the world around you.

Passover Pattern Wall

Collaborate on several large panels inspired by the patterns of artist Marc Camille Chaimowicz using playful images of matzah, objects from the Seder plate, imagery from the Passover story, or other imaginative patterns.

Passover Pattern Postcards

Take home your own piece of the wall and design a collage postcard to share with family or friends in wishing them a joyous holiday.

All Day
Explore the family gallery guide for the exhibition Marc Camille Chaimowicz: Your Place or Mine… and Passover related art and objects in Scenes from the Collection.
