Zoom, Virtual Program

Join us for an exclusive members-only virtual lecture led by Curator of Judaica, Dr. Abigail Rapoport, on a rare pair of Torah finials crafted by master silversmith, Abraham Lopes de Oliveyra (1657 – 1750), the earliest known Jewish silversmith to work in England. The pair of finials are currently on view at the Jewish Museum until late October.

Learn about the story of these precious Torah ornaments and their history, alongside Oliveyra's distinctive career as a craftsman, all within the backdrop of eighteenth-century London, a time of flourishing Jewish communal life in England.

Please RSVP to register and confirm attendance.

This program is presented with captions through Zoom. The Jewish Museum is committed to making its virtual programs accessible to all. For inquiries and requests for CART, ASL interpretation, or additional accommodations please email info@thejm.org or call 212.423.3200 ext. 0.
