Her celebrated 1975 film Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles was declared by The New York Times upon its release as the “first masterpiece of the feminine in the history of the cinema.” Now, the documentary I Don’t Belong Anywhere: The Cinema of Chantal Akerman dives into the 40-film oeuvre of the Jewish Belgian pioneer.
