Celebrate Women's History Month at the Jewish Museum's first Wikipedia Edit-a-thon co-presented with Art + Feminism, a campaign dedicated to improving coverage of cis and transgender women, feminism, and the arts on Wikipedia. All are welcome to learn how to become a Wikipedia editor and join us to hear from collection artists Joan Semmel and Arlene Shechet, whose work is now on view in Scenes from the Collection.

2 pm: Gallery Talk with artists Joan Semmel and Arlene Shechet, moderated by Rebecca Shaykin, Leon Levy Assistant Curator

3 pm: Wikipedia Training with JiaJia Fei, Director of Digital and Michael Mandiberg, Co-Founder, Art + Feminism

4 – 6 pm: Editing Session

No prior Wikipedia editing experience necessary. To participate in the Edit-a-thon portion of the event, bring a laptop and power cord. Before arriving at the Museum, please create a Wikipedia account. Reference materials will be provided. 

Free with RSVP, includes light refreshments by Russ & Daughters at the Jewish Museum.
