Sonia De Los Santos

Family Concert

Family

Sunday, September 30, 2018
11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Scheuer Auditorium

Ages 2 to 8

Hear the vibrant rhythms of Sonia De Los Santos performing songs inspired by her native Mexico in English and Spanish along American classics such as “This Land is Your Land” and Latin American party tunes. Playing guitar and jarana, De Los Santos offers a personal, yet universal, musical story.

This concert will also be a celebration for the release of ¡Alegría! (Joy!) her second family album, as De Los Santos shares the wonders of the natural world that bring her happiness such as: migrating butterflies, early morning sunshine, wild flowers, jumping bunnies, birds and more. She will also share songs from her first notable album, Mi Viaje: De Nuevo León to the New York Island (Parents’ Choice Foundation Gold Award Winner) a collection of songs that reflect her childhood growing up in Mexico, moving to another country, learning about other cultures, and in the process, feeling closer to her own heritage. On the heels of the Sukkot holiday, enjoy these songs connected to nature and messages of cultural bridge-building that will inspire children and grown-ups alike.
