Middle and high school students are invited to view award-winning documentaries that examine current social issues such as representation and identity, immigration, and civil rights followed by Q&A sessions with filmmakers.

Princeville, North Carolina—a town established by freed, formerly enslaved Africans after the Civil War—rests along the floodplain of the Tar River. Since its founding, the town has been inundated with flooding. With each natural disaster, more of the town is lost. Freedom Hill explores the history of environmental racism that impacts Princeville and chronicles the community as they actively work against the systems of injustice that threaten their town.
