Associate Curator Rebecca Shaykin shares her research on the life of pioneering art gallerist Edith Halpert who, as the first significant female gallerist in the United States, helped launch the careers of many icons of American modernism including Stuart Davis, Jacob Lawrence, Georgia O'Keeffe, Ben Shahn, and Charles Sheeler.
