Membership & Development Operations Assistant (Local 2110)

The Membership & Development Operations Assistant is the primary contact for the Museum’s members and provides critical administrative support to the entire department. The Assistant reports to the Manager of Membership & Development Operations, and works with staff across departments as needed.

Schedule: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Process membership and development gifts accurately and efficiently
  • Perform data entry and data cleanup as needed
  • Create daily and monthly reconciliation reports and maintain the Membership & Development operations google drive as a resource for the Finance department 
  • Oversee Membership fulfillment by third party vendors, handle special fulfillments in-house, and route acknowledgement lists and materials for fulfillment by appropriate development teams
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of Museum programs and provide excellent customer service over the phone, via email, and in person to ensure a positive experience for Museum members and donors
  • Manage membership inboxes, track and monitor event RSVPs, and assist with member events
  • Work with Visitor Experience team to maximize member conversion onsite and ensure that members have a positive experience on every visit
    • Keep team members informed about member benefits and events and help develop sales strategies
    • Maintain a Membership and Development manual for use at the front desk and across the Museum 
  • Provide additional administrative support as needed

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in membership services or other office setting preferred
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Google Drive
  • Previous experience with Acme, Salesforce, or other database preferred
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, and interact with staff at all levels
  • Creative, analytical, energetic team player and self-starter with a good sense of humor and a strong desire to succeed
  • Willing to work overtime periodically in office and at events, including evenings, weekends, and some National holidays
  • Interest in museums, cultural institutions, or nonprofits a plus
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a Center for Disease Control (CDC) or World Health Organization (WHO) authorized vaccine (or approved for an exemption as a reasonable accommodation due to qualified disability or sincerely held religious belief or other legal basis)

Note: The Museum currently is operating with a hybrid model, with all full-time staff working on-site three days per week.
