This 2014 documentary examines the lives of seven unique New Yorkers whose eclectic personal style and vital spirit have guided their approach to aging. Directed by Lina Plioplyte and based on Ari Seth Cohen’s famed blog of the same name, Advanced Style (72 min.) paints intimate and colorful portraits of independent, stylish women ages 62 – 95, who are challenging conventional ideas about beauty, aging, and American culture’s increasing obsession with youth.

Just announced: Special appearance by Ari Seth Cohen and several women featured in the film.

  • Ticket holders are encouraged to arrive promptly, as seating is not guaranteed once a program has begun.

  • If your ticket was emailed to you, present the ticket on your mobile device or the print-out of your ticket.
  • Tickets purchased for events and programs at the Museum include admission to the galleries on the day of the program during regular Museum hours.
