Box Office & Group Sales Associate

The Box Office & Group Sales Associate will be responsible for overseeing the Museum’s reception, Box Office, and Group Sales functions. As a member of the Visitor Experience Department the incumbent will oversee all phone and email correspondences to the Museum’s main channels, ensure all programs, admission categories, and tours are entered in the POS, will be responsible for prospecting, and booking group visits, tracking Box Office data, coordinating daily operations related to group visits and box office duties, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The incumbent will collaborate with staff across The Jewish Museum to ensure prompt and courteous response to audience inquiries and requests.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main information and reception point for the Museum, ensuring a professional, customer-focused, and welcoming service for all guests and visitors.
  • Become an in-house expert on the Museum’s box office POS system. Maintain POS data and reporting including entering calendar events, maintaining admissions categories, and updating automated email confirmations. Contribute to long-term maintenance of the POS system, including planning for system enhancements and managing relationships with IT team and third party vendor.
  • Coordinate and book reservations for group ticket sales and (both onsite and virtual) programs and tours through the POS ticketing system.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve any ticketing or customer service issues.
  • Manage guest communications, including pre-visit reminders, post visit surveys, and general inquiries (via telephone, email, and in-person).
  • Enter customer reservations, process payments, and distribute confirmations and tickets.
  • In collaboration with other departments, manage implementation of discounts, coupons, and promotions.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure updated Museum information is shared with external partners and affiliates and update discount and affiliate categories on the Museum’s website.
  • Prepare timely sales, attendance, and ticket-buyer demographic reports for senior management.
  • Follow up on inquiries for adult tours through email or Google Tour Request Form.
  • Correspond with adult groups about adult tours offerings - familiarize oneself with exhibitions and collection.
  • Book tours in Acme Ticketing and send confirmations and invoices to group leaders.
  • Follow up on payment for tours and process payments through POS.
  • Liaise with Education Staff to engage educators to lead tours.
  • Prepare public information such as box office and phone tree scripts to ensure customers are knowledgeable about the Museum’s offerings.
  • Provide excellent customer service and attention to the needs of our constituents by phone and email.

  • Other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years professional experience
  • Prior experience in and sincere interest in hospitality and customer service
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize work and resources
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work well with staff and visitors of diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Tech savvy; Mac and PC proficiency; fluent with MS Office Suite
  • Experience with ticketing software platforms preferred
  • Genuine interest in art, and in Jewish culture
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a Center for Disease Control (CDC) or World Health Organization (WHO) authorized vaccine (or approved for an exemption as a reasonable accommodation due to qualified disability or sincerely held religious belief or other legal basis)

Salary Range for Position: $45,000-$53,000
