On-Call Audio-Visual Projectionist Assistant

The Audio-Visual Projectionist Assistant provides audio/visual services to all Museum departments. This position requires on-site presence for all scheduled shifts.

Reports to: Director of Facilities, Security & Engineering
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: On-Call


  • Help to maintain audio-visual equipment and installations throughout the Museum, including daily equipment check
  • Help to perform minor repairs to A/V equipment
  • Assist with A/V services for all internal Museum events including public programs, education department programs, and special events
  • Act as liaison with exhibiting artists and program performers re: A/V requirements
  • Serve as stage manager for public program performances
  • Interact as needed with A/V equipment rental companies and manufacturers
  • Assist with lighting design for public program performances
  • Conduct routine equipment inventory


  • Knowledge of analog and digital technologies for audio and video recording and editing equipment
  • Knowledge of multi-channel sound mixing console 
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn stage lighting and dimmer console
  • Computer skills Mac and PC platforms
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
